Hop aboard the vitamin C train with this mango lassi recipe!
While I realize this delicious smoothie is usually reserved for the warmer months, I’ve been craving it big-time since the new year rolled out. Maybe because the mangos supply such a high vitamin C kick? Could be! You’ll be drinking about 75% of your daily value with this recipe.
Lassi is what Indians call yogurt drinks, usually used to cool the body down during the warm months. It is sometimes referred to as being an “ancient smoothie” and some claim that it is the first smoothie in the world.
It’s easy to make. Not only that it is good for your gut thanks to the probiotics from the Greek yogurt.
Creamy Mango Lassi
-
2 cups cubed frozen mangoes
-
¾ cup Greek yogurt
-
A handful of ice cubes
-
¼ cup milk or coconut milk
-
Dash of honey to sweeten
Blend and enjoy!
Some like to add saffron strands as a garnish. I didn’t for this recipe, but only because I didn’t have them on hand.
