Best Natural Soap

Okay, two things.

First of all, when you buy the best natural soap you’re buying science.

Secondly, when you buy artisanal soap you are buying soap that is good for your skin.

So, science. Soaps are essentially sodium or potassium fatty acids salts. A soap molecule is a hydrocarbon chain that looks like a freight train with the engine being attracted to water (hydrophilic) and the caboose preferring oil to water (hydrophobic). The hydrocarbon chains of soap are attracted to each other’s molecules by dispersion forces. They cluster together like teenage girls at a high school dance, and form structures called micelles. Micelles are negatively charged therefore repel each other and stay dispersed in the water.

Next time somebody in your life balks at soap, tell them exactly why it works. Because science is cool.

Next topic. Artisan soaps. Sealuxe uses natural ingredients in soaps which include healthy oils (great for moisturizing!), essential oils (harm-free and heavenly scent) and nature’s ingredients (organic and biodegradable ingredients that are harvested or sourced in an environmentally-friendly way). We’re passionate about providing luxury skincare products at an affordable price because we want anybody to have the choice of being able to refresh their skin, not pollute it with the chemicals found in many commercial soaps!

Those chemicals, undeserving of a drumroll, are:

  • Parabens (chemical preservatives);

  • Synthetic perfume (linked to allergies and hormonal issues. Can aggravate existing skin issues such as rosacea and acne);

  • Petrochemicals (little is known about the long-term effects of petroleum chemicals on our health);

  • Phthalates (a word for an ingredient used to produce plastic. Known to cause cancer);

  • And artificial colouring (artificial dyes are known to cause illnesses).
