Waffling Around Smoothie Recipe
Who doesn’t love waffles?
I’ve been on a BIG waffle kick lately. I heap berries on top, thawed from being frozen for a single month from the summer (they don’t make it very far into fall in my household) and then drizzle real Canadian maple syrup. Mostly I have this for breakfast and I may admit to making these late at night when I’m up working.
A friend of mine recently mentioned that she drinks her waffles? What is this madness?! I had to ask.
Turns out, there is such a thing as a waffle smoothie. It is delicious and nutritious so I’m going to be making these on the reg as of now. To add: try to include real maple syrup rather than the fake kind. Real and pure maple syrup is not only high in antioxidants, but every spoonful offers nutrients like riboflavin, zinc, magnesium, calcium and potassium.
Check out the Waffling Around Smoothie recipe:
1 frozen multigrain waffle (I buy the organic ones, but the regular ones are no doubt just as good)
½ scoop Greens powder OR handful of spinach (this amps up the vitamins and you won’t taste it)
½ cup vanilla Greek yogurt (I use the 5 or 11 per cent creamy versions)
½ cup frozen blueberries
½ cup water
1.5 tablespoons Canadian maple syrup
Handful of ice cubes
Blend and enjoy!
