Blimey! Key Lime Smoothie Recipe
A lemon to a lime, a lime to a lemon – here’s a def smoothie for all you fly women (and men)!
Ah, the tart taste of lime. It’s wonderful added as a dash to Thai foods, on the side of a drink as you relax on a patio, and in a heavenly slice of key lime pie. Like their lemon cousins (limes and lemons come from the same citrus family. Limes, however, are NOT unripe lemons), they taste outta this world when used in large quantities in baking. If you’ve ever bitten into lemon loaf or key lime pie made with the real fruit, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Mmmmm MMM!
I had a craving for key lime pie this morning (yes, for breakfast. What can I say? The heart wants what it wants). So, I decided to make something to satisfy that sweet-tart longing. This smoothie has a bit of sugar, thanks to the flavoured yogurt. So might not be the best smoothie for those watching their sugar intake. However, I don’t often buy this stuff, but once in a while as a treat is okay in my books.

- 1 cup of key lime-flavoured yohurt
- 1 frozen banana
- 2 tbsp plain cream cheese
- ½ cup vanilla almond milk (can sub with regular milk)
- 1 handful of spinach
Blend and enjoy!
