Given the theme of our last post SeaLuxe Plastics What We Preach, we thought it was so cool to hear from a SeaLuxe fan with regards to reusing. Molly bought one of new candles during our rebrand launch party last month and wrote us to say that she loves the pottery vessel it came in so much that she uses it on her makeup counter.

Molly specifically uses it to store and wash her makeup brushes.

“I don’t have one of those fancy deep brush-cleaning bowls they sell at Sephora – why spend money on something like that when any old bowl or mug will do?” Molly said. “The ceramic candle holder I bought from SeaLuxe fits the bill perfectly! Once I finished the candle (yes, I used it every night since I bought it) I realized it was exactly the perfect make-up brush holder and cleaner!”

Molly said she uses a squirt of gentle shampoo and then fills the candle holder with warm water. She swirls the brushes around in the soap for about a minute then rinses with clean water and then carefully squeezes the water out before laying the brushes flat to dry.

“Once everything is dry, the brushes go back into the ceramic holder which looks so pretty on my counter!”

We’re first to admit that our candle holders aren’t any Instagram-famous Stylepro Makeup Brush Cleaner and Dryer (which looks to us like a mini automatic car-wash!) but it’s always good to remember your basic household items – our SeaLuxe’s candle holders – do the trick just fine for us regular folk rather than gadgetry!

And, remember to wash those makeup brushes once a week to keep the grime and bacteria away!
