Light Up Your Life Safely

Candles are a beautiful way of adding ambiance by creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A couple of candlesticks at the dinner table = instant romance! Candle-lit bath? How can you not be relaxed?

It’s important to use non-toxic candles, and the best way to ensure you’re not using a product that releases toxins into the air when burned is to use candles made from 100% natural ingredients. You don’t want to be breathing in parabens, phthalates, or synthetic fragrances, as these chemicals can lead to respiratory issues, allergies, and other health problems.

We recommend not using candles containing paraffin wax, synthetic fragrance, or lead wicks. Did you know that it was common practice to use wicks made from braided cotton coated in lead? This method was used to help the wick stay upright and was only banned in 2003 due to health concerns around burning lead in the home!

Sealuxe’s line of candles uses a blend of natural waxes such as soy wax and coconut wax for clean-burning. Additionally, we use only high-quality pure essential oils to create our unique and comforting fragrances. Check out our popular line of candles that include: the Anchor Tin Candle (fig leaf, almond), Westcoast Tin Candle (cedar, birch, pine), Echo Tin Candle (lavender, vanilla), and Kelp Forest (vetiver, cedar)

Candle Care from Sealuxe

  • Trim your wick to 1/8 of an inch before each lighting. You can trim the wick by pinching with your fingers, using a wick-trimmer, sharp scissors or nail clippers. (Never trim the wick while the candle is lit.)
  • Protect the surface underneath the candle no matter what the material is.
  • Allow your candle to burn long enough to have a full melt pool where the melted wax reaches the tin’s edge. This provides optimal candle performance; your candle will last longer and prevents candle tunnelling.
  • Stop burning the candle when only ¼ inch of the wax remains on the bottom.
  • Do not burn for longer than four hours at a time.
