Pear Ginger Smoothie Recipe
We’ve always been a bit leery of drinking warm smoothies. Isn’t it then more a soup than smoothie? But we got over our preconceived notions pretty quick after a friend made this for us during a recent snowstorm (yes, Vancouver tends to get snowstorms February and March – just when everybody’s getting excited about spring!). This smoothie is delicious, filling, and warmed us from head to toe so we’re delighted to share the recipe with you!
SNAPPY PEAR GINGER SMOOTHIE
- 1 tsp peeled ginger
- 2 peeled and sliced pears (any type)
- 2 tbsp hemp seeds
- 2 tbsp almond butter
- 1 tbsp pure Canadian maple syrup
- 1.5 cups unsweetened almond milk
Blend all the ingredients. If you have a Vitamix, blend on high for four minutes (the power of the machine will heat the ingredients). If you have a standard blender, blend until smooth then transfer to a pot and heat on the stove until the smoothie warms up.
Enjoy and stay warm!
