A-1 Almond Energy Smoothie Recipe

To tell the truth, I barely remember when that happened. Maybe when I was a teenager? Anyway, if you’re at all like me, life does not slow down for the weekends. Sure, there’s fun stuff but there’s also endless laundry to do, ageing parents to visit and spend three hours in Bed Bath & Beyond picking out a duvet cover, kids’ activities, maybe a home reno project in there, and cleaning! So, eating a big bowl of Vector cereal ain’t gonna get tricks done, I’m afraid. You need a breakfast that’s jammed full of energy to get you through at least until the evening when you can throw back with a glass of wine.
Look no further than our A-1 Almond Energy smoothie for natural energy to start your Saturday night (shout out to Steph for this awesome smoothie!).
- 1 banana (frozen or freshly peeled)
- 1 ½ to two tbs of almond butter
- ½ cup of Greek vanilla or plain yogurt (2% or higher. We’ve even used 10% before. YUM!)
- 1 tbs flax seed
- 2 tsp agave nectar
- ¾ c unsweetened apple juice
- Handful of ice cubes
Blend and enjoy!
